79th ANNUAL CONVENTION

April 30, May 1 & 2, 2010, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Riverhouse, Bend, Oregon

The Oregon Feed and Grain Association is pleased to announce that its annual convention will be held in Bend, Oregon this year. The location is the Riverhouse Resort which is located on north highway 97, Bend, Oregon. Room reservations need to be made directly with the Riverhouse by calling 1-800-547-3928. Indicate you are with the Oregon Feed and Grain Assoc. Room rate is $124 per night plus tax. Make your room reservation by March 29th to ensure availability and rate.

The agenda, registration form, golf form and sponsor form are included with this letter. Return the registration information to the association office no later than April 15, 2010.

The program will highlight speakers on Friday the 30th from OSU, the Ohio Farm Bureau, FFA and two politicians. Dean Sammy Ramaswamy, College of Agricultural Sciences, Oregon State University, will discuss the future of that department at OSU; Adam Sharp, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, will bring the delegates Ohio’s success story concerning the animal rights issue; Sam Palacio, president of the Oregon FFA, will outline the activities and value of the Future Farmers of America; Oregon House of Representatives District 53, Gene Whisnant, will address the group; and Oregon candidate for Governor Allen Alley will speak. Richard TenEyck, Animal Health Division, Oregon Department of Agriculture, will discuss the feed program in Oregon. On Saturday morning Richard Sellers, American Feed Industry Association, will bring members up to date on the national scene.

The convention golf tournament will take place at the Riverhouse Golf Course at Noon on Saturday. That evening there will be the presidential banquet with a casino night provided by team casino and the members of the association. Other social functions will include a Friday night reception, Saturday and Sunday a.m. breakfasts.

The association is soliciting sponsorships to help defray the costs of bringing in speakers and providing prizes for the casino night. See the sponsorship form attached.
